About Mechanics’ Institute
Before the [California world fair]: the Mechanics’ Institute’s Industrial Exhibitions, 1857-1899
I have offered a version of this lecture several times over the last five years, as part of large celebrations that honor anniversaries of California’s world fairs: Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915; the Golden Gate International Exposition of 1939-1940; and the California Midwinter Exposition of 1894.
